It will depend on how your account is set up with Avis. The Avis app will follow the current rules set up between Avis and your business or company. If you have your own unique personal profile, then the Avis app will work as normal. However, it is not designed for a generic business profile used for multiple drivers.

Yes, if your company has set up a corporate account with us. Through this account, your company can provide employees with an ACTO (Avis Company Travel Order), which is a special voucher that is handed over when a hire vehicle is collected.

We offer you a couple of ways to pay to make it easy. You can pay online now or pay on collection and we'll charge you at the end of the hire. The choice is yours.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners/Discover debit, credit or charge cards. There are a few exceptions: One credit card and one debit card may be required at the counter for higher-value vehicles in the UK. You can't use a debit card in Iceland and Canada. We don't accept cards with Solo, JCB or Cirrus logos – even if they carry the Visa or MasterCard logo. Germany issued Maestro cards are only accepted in Germany. If you booked online using a PREPAID card, it must be shown at the counter along with another payment card. Two payment cards may be required at the counter for higher-value vehicles; if you've booked online, or over the phone, this will be highlighted on your booking confirmation.

Remember, the name on the card must match the driving licence of the main driver and must contain both the first and last names to complete the check-out process. When you signed up for Avis Preferred you provided your preferred payment method. We use this each time you book. You can update your profile and change the payment card at any time.

We're sorry that you've had to cancel your booking with us. Please first ensure that you have read our Booking Conditions for information on cancellation fees. Once your booking is cancelled, Contact us using the icons below to request your refund. Any funds that are to be refunded can take up to 5-7 working days from the date they are processed. If there are any extraordinary circumstances that may affect the above timeframe, our customer care team will let you know. If you have cancelled your booking on the same day you created it, there is nothing to refund as the charges would not have been made until midnight. Any item listed on your statement in this case will be a pre-authorisation hold, not a debit.

The Maestro card is only accepted in Germany. PREPAID cards are accepted online however they are not accepted at the counter which means a non-PREPAID card must be shown at the rental station (together with the PREPAID card). A PREPAID card can be used to pay for the rental at the end of the vehicle hire. Please refer to our location specific terms and conditions for additional information on payment options. Remember, the name on the card must match the driving licence of the main driver. Someone else can't pay on your behalf. And don't forget to bring your payment card when you collect your rental.

You can redeem your coupon in person at your hire station. Coupons cannot currently be used online. However, you can still book your vehicle online and redeem your coupon over the counter. Coupons can only be redeemed on 'pay at location' bookings as they cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or offers.

If you'd rather not pay online now, you can pay at the hire station. When you collect your vehicle, we'll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation for the full hire cost (including extras) but won't take payment until you return your vehicle. Paying now will cost you less than paying later.

You can either pay for your vehicle when you book online, or when you collect your hire vehicle. If you choose to pay when you book online, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation. If you choose to pay at the station, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation for the estimated full hire cost (including extras) but won’t take payment until you return your vehicle. There are some useful extras such as Fuel Up Front that you can't pay for until you collect your vehicle. These will of course still be reserved for you.

An ACTO (Avis Company Travel Order) is a special voucher businesses give to staff so they can hire a vehicle with us. Simply show your ACTO, driving licence and company ID when you collect your hire vehicle and we'll invoice your company directly. These vouchers can't be used for online bookings.

If you would like to use these vouchers at work, simply set up an Avis corporate account.

If you have prepaid for your voucher directly with Avis, it's not a problem. You can still collect your hire car. Just be sure to bring all of the other required identification and documentation, including the credit card used to make your booking.

If it is a voucher from a travel agent or third party agency however, we need to see the voucher before you can drive your hire car away.

A fixed value voucher only covers hire fees up to a certain amount so you'll need to provide a payment card in the name of the driver and pay for any extra costs not covered by the voucher. A full credit voucher covers the entire hire, however much it costs. You can pick up a fixed value voucher from a travel agent. Please note that full credit vouchers are only available for business rentals through a corporate travel agent in the UK.
