Self Service Kiosks
All you need is your QR code and date of birth.
The whole process only takes about thirty seconds.
Once you’ve downloaded the Avis mobile app, you’ll be given the option to complete the kiosk verification process. Please note, this isn’t available for first time renters. You’ll be asked to take a selfie and a photo of the front and back of your driving licence. Once you’re done, you should see a confirmation message letting you know you’re all set to collect your keys from a kiosk.
This service is currently available for our Avis Preferred members who have completed the verification process within the Avis mobile app. Customers who are collecting a vehicle outside a rental station’s opening hours can also collect their keys from a kiosk.
If you add your flight number to your booking, we can monitor the arrival time and ensure your rental pick up is managed accordingly.
You’ll be able to use your QR code to pick up your keys from a kiosk two hours before your scheduled pick-up time and up to six hours afterwards.
If you have a verified Avis Preferred profile (you can check this in the My Account section in the Avis app), you will be eligible to bypass the counter and collect your keys from a kiosk in locations that have them. Please note, verified status does expire and the verification process may need completing again.
If the kiosk door doesn’t open properly or the keys are stuck and you’re unable to get them out, please find a member of staff to assist you.
The kiosk QR code doesn’t work, who should I contact?
If you’ve tried scanning the QR code at the kiosk and it’s not recognized, or you’re not asked to enter your date of birth at the kiosk, please head to the counter or talk to a member of staff who will be able to help you.
The QR code needed to open the kiosk and collect your car keys will either be available in the Avis mobile app or be sent to you via an SMS. Please ensure you’ve checked for both. If you’re still unable to locate the code, please head to the counter when you arrive to collect your car, and a member of staff will help you.
